Nigeria moving forward

Nigeria has been having its share of troubles in the last several months as its president was flown out of country for illness. No one heard from him for a long time until he was returned to the country in the dead of night, still out of reach from most people. His vice-president, Goodluck Jonathan, was made acting president in a ... complex move.

Well, Mr. Jonathan is now the President. I read the news article just before going to bed last night and told the Lovely and Gracious I had discovered the former President of Nigeria had died. She quipped that I ought to get right on the phone and let the rest of Nigeria know.

The former president's "election in 2007 marked the first transfer of power from one civilian president to another since Nigeria's independence in 1960."
