The physical earthquake and the damage was the first concern. The second was the outbreaks of various diseases. Now longer term problems are starting to be felt:
Poor property rights and a damaged legal system that wasn't ideal before to get the land in use again.
Another source said, “This is urban development without urbanism, architecture without architects, engineering without engineers.’’
Schools that won't reopen will cause problems for years and possibly generations to come.
Texas in Africa also has a video posted showing a 2 minute walk to get from the front of the line to the back waiting to enter the Port-au-Prince health clinic. Medical needs are still large.
