An excellent point by Yglesias: comparing the Fed vacancies to the Supreme Court vacancies.

One of the nicer points of IFPRI's summary of Paarlberg's book on food policy is the acknowledgment of connections between US anti-obesity policy, the political power of the food industry, AND the food situation in developing countries. I'm not sure how much of the book addresses other countries' situations, but it is nice that some mention is made.
